Switch PHP versions per domain to match your application requirements.

Different applications require different PHP versions. DirectAdmin lets you choose the version per domain.

Change PHP version

  1. Go to Extra Features → Select PHP Version (or Account Manager → PHP Settings).
  2. Select the domain.
  3. Pick the PHP version — for example 8.2 or 8.3 for modern WordPress and Laravel.
  4. Enable required extensions for your application.
  5. Save and test your site.

Compatibility tips

  • Check your CMS or framework documentation for supported versions.
  • Test on staging before upgrading production sites.
  • Older PHP versions may be available but lack security updates — upgrade legacy apps when possible.
