MX (Mail Exchange) records tell the internet which servers handle email for your domain.
View current MX records
- Go to Account Manager → DNS Management or Email Manager → MX Records.
- Select your domain.
- Review existing MX entries and their priority values.
Use DanumHost mail (default)
For mail hosted on your account, MX records should point to your server hostname (for example mail.yourdomain.com) with the matching A record. DanumHost setups usually configure this automatically.
Use external mail (Google, Microsoft 365, etc.)
- Remove or lower priority of existing MX records.
- Add the MX records provided by your external mail host.
- Allow DNS to propagate before switching — misconfigured MX records cause mail delivery failures.
