What is a Mailing List and how to use one with cPanel

Mailing lists in cPanel allow you to send emails to multiple recipients using a single email address. This feature is particularly useful for newsletters, announcements, or any group communication. cPanel uses the Mailman application to manage mailing lists.

How to Use Mailing Lists in cPanel

  1. Log in to cPanel: Access your cPanel account.

  2. Navigate to Email: In the cPanel dashboard, click on the "Email" section.

  3. Open Mailing Lists: Click on the "Mailing Lists" icon.

  4. Create a Mailing List: Click on the "Create" button.

  5. Enter Details: Fill in the following details:

    • List Name: Enter a name for your mailing list.

    • Domain: Select the domain for the mailing list.

    • Password: Enter and confirm a password for the mailing list.

    • Access Type: Choose between "Public" (open subscriptions) or "Private" (administrator approval required).

  6. Click Create: Once all details are filled, click the "Create" button.

Managing Mailing Lists

  • View Current Lists: The "Current Lists" section displays all the mailing lists on your account.

  • Search: Use the search box to find a specific mailing list.

  • Modify: You can modify, delete, or change the password of existing mailing lists.

  • Membership Management: Manage subscriptions, add or remove users, and configure privacy options.
